A bail bond acts a three party contract between the court, the defendant, and the surety. This contract arrangement allows the defendant to be released during the pendency of their criminal charges. The surety is the party that assumes the financial risk and responsibility of guaranteeing the defendant’s appearance in court. The surety is not just a single party, it’s a joint party consisting of the bail agent (representing a surety company) and the defendant’s co-signer(s).

Upon contacting our bail bond agency, we will ask a series of questions to best assess the situation. Once approved, you will be asked to complete a bail bond application. After payment has been received and processed, our licensed bail bond agent will post the bond on behalf of the defendant.

The bail bond is valid as long as the court case stays in pending status. The bail bond will remain valid as long as all court mandated requirements are met.

In Ohio, the bail premium, or fee, is typically 10% of the full bail amount. For example, if the bail amount is $10,000, the bail premium charged will be $1,000.

In the state of Ohio, the indemnitor (co-signer) is financially liable for the bond. The indemintor’s liability is limited to the full face value of the bail bond.

Before contacting a bail bond agent in Ohio, there is certain information that’s required to start the bail bond process, such as, Where is the person in custody? Also having the city, state, and the name of the jail will be very helpful. In order to contact the jail, the bail bond agent will also need the full name and booking number (not required) of the person in custody.
